RSF Blog
Please remember that the best part about a blog is that it is an active space where any member can post a comment. We hope that 2007 will be the year that the RSF blog really takes off with exchanges of ideas between members and opportunities to feedback and share experiences. You can add a comment by clicking on the link at the bottom of this post.

Mae croeso i chi bostio eich neges yn Gymraeg on gofynnwn i chi roi cyfieithwyr byr o'ch neges yn Saesneg hefyd fel bod pawb yn gallu cymryd rhan. I'r cyfieithwyr yn eich mysg , os oes gennydd awydd i gyfiethu negeseuon pobol eraill yr Gymraeg, peidiwch ag oedi!
You are welcome to post your messgaes in Welsh, but we ask you to provide a short translation in English so that everyone can take part. For the translators in our midst, if you feel like translating other people's messages into Welsh, don't hesitate!

Cofnodion y cyfarfod a gynhaliwyd am 2 o’r gloch dydd Mercher 9 Mai 2007 yn Ystafell 114, Brigantia.

1. Croeso ac ymddiheuriadau

Croesawodd Paul y sawl a oedd yn bresennol: Cossie Rasana, Niklas Tysklind, Serene Dalati, Judith Kaufmann, Paul Butler, Karen Jones. Ni dderbyniwyd unrhyw ymddiheuriadau

2. Derbyn cofnodion a materion yn codi

Derbyniwyd cofnodion y cyfarfod o 7 Mawrth fel rhai cywir.

Pwynt 3: Dywedodd Niklas ei fod wedi canfod merch o’r enw Lyndsay sy’n fodlon cymryd y rôl fel ysgrifenydd y Clwb Cymdeithasol.

Pwynt 4: Byddai Paul yn holi Jayne am fynediad i’r wefan.

Pwynt 6: Oherwydd arolwg y Brifysgol ymysg ôl-raddedigion sydd newydd gael ei gynnal, roedd Paul yn awyddus cadw arolwg yr RSF tan yr hydref.

3. Adroddiadau o gyfarfodydd a fynychwyd

Roedd Cossie yn holi beth y dylai hi drafod yng nghyfarfod nesaf y Grŵp Sgiliau i ôl-raddedigion. Awgrymwyd tynnu sylw at yr angen o gael sesiynau cyflwyno sgiliau trosglwyddadwy a sesiynau llyfrgell. Byddai’n dda hefyd cael gwell gwybodaeth am bob math o gyrsiau a sesiynau hyfforddi sydd ar gael, nid yn unig rhai yn llyfryn sgiliau trosglwyddadwy.

4. Digwyddiadau cymdeithasol

Penderfynwyd cadw’r drafodaeth tan y cyfarfod nesaf pan fydd yr ysgrifennydd cymdeithasol newydd yn bresennol.

5. Trafod y gynhadledd ymchwil nesaf

Gan nad yw’r dyddiad oedd Rhys wedi cael ar gyfer yr ystafelloedd yn Adeilad Wheldon yn addas, bydd Niklas a Serene yn holi am fwcio naill ai MALT neu Neuadd PJ a Powis, neu ystafelloedd yn yr Adran SPSS.

Penderfynwyd cadw’r teitl o’r gynhadledd ddiwethaf, sef “Tu hwnt i ffiniau 2008”.

Tan y cyfarfod nesaf, byddai Paul a Judith yn tynnu rhestr o bethau a thasgau sydd angen eu gwneud i drefnu’r gynhadledd, i hwyluso’r drafodaeth.

6. Unrhyw fater arall

Dim.

7. Dyddiad y cyfarfod nesaf

Penderfynwyd cynnal y cyfarfod nesaf ar ddydd Mercher 6 Mehefin 2007 am 2 o’r gloch yn y Lolfa Grom.

Minutes of the meeting held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, 9 May 2007 in Room 114, Brigantia.

1. Welcome and apologies

Paul welcomed those present: Cossie Rasana, Niklas Tysklind, Serene Dalati, Judith Kaufmann, Paul Butler, Karen Jones. No apologies were received.

2. Acceptance of minutes and matters arising

The minutes of the meeting on 7 March were confirmed as correct.

Point 3: Niklas said he had found a girl called Lyndsay who is willing to take on the role of secretary of the Social Club.

Point 4: Paul will ask Jayne for access to the website.

Point 6: Due to the University’s review amongst postgraduates which was held recently, Paul was eager to keep the RSF review until autumn.

3. Reports of meetings attended

Cossie asked what she should discuss in the next meeting of the Skills Group for postgraduates. It was suggested to draw attention to the need to get sessions on presenting transferable skills and library sessions. It would also be good to have better information on all kinds of courses and training sessions available, not only those in the transferable skills booklet.

4. Social events

It was decided to keep the discussion until the next meeting when the new social secretary will be present.

5. Discussion of the next research conference

As the date Rhys had received for the rooms in the Wheldon Building was not suitable, Niklas and Serene will enquire about booking either MALT or the PJ and Powis Halls, or rooms in the SPSS Department.

It was decided to keep the title of the last conference, “Beyond boundaries 2008”.

Until the next meeting, Paul and Judith will draw a list of things and tasks which need to be done to organise the conference, to facilitate the discussion.

6. Any other business

None.

7. Date of next meeting

It was decided to hold the next meeting Wednesday, 6 June 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Curved Lounge.
